Design and build. Turn-key project of sludge solidification unit for the Waste Water Treatment Plant in Krakow Plaszow II
Realization: 2009 – 2010
Subject matter and scope of services:
The project’s objective was to design the installation for sludge solidification. The scope of work included construction of the project along with the technological “know-how”, delivery of equipment, development of design in many branches, project executive, erection of complete installation, commissioning, start-up and training of personnel.
Installation task is to convert the sludge in form of suspension, as a result of leaching of chemical products formed during the combustion of sludge in Sludge Incineration Plant to vibrated blocks consisting of filtered sediment and a binder which is cement. Suspended sediment after leaching contains a significant proportion of heavy metals, and therefore a necessary condition was to use technology that will prevent contaminants leaching from the material by rain and snow to the environment during its storage. Therefore Dabster decided to use technology through the formation of sludge solidification it in blocks, which, after appropriate performance indicator met the requirement of leaching of pollutants permitted by the standards and the possibility of storage of non-hazardous landfills.
